iPhone 5 and iPad mini cases hit store shelves confirming rumored specs of the devices

We may be living on rumors and speculation but some manufacturers have gone far enough to let their iPhone 5 and iPad mini cases go on sale already. According to HDBlog.it, they have spotted the cases for Apple’s rumored devices on shelves at IFA Dublin. These cases apparently confirm the existence of the iPad mini with the same specs as rumored as well as the taller iPhone 5.

There are all types of cases for the iPhone 5 including plastic, silicon and leather. As the silicon cases are made for perfect-fit, they tell us a lot about the design and farm factor of the iPhone 5, they have three holes at the bottom:

- Two rectangular holes for microphone and speaker on either sides. The left one is extended towards the center for the headphone jack – yes, it’s really at the bottom.

- A mini dock connector hole at the center.

These cases do not appear to have any hole on the upper side, rather there’s just an embossed power button seat. On the front is the space for the earpiece and the new Facetime camera. The size of the silicon case sets in par with the rumored height of the iPhone 5 to perfectly house the 4-inch screen. The back side has a single hole for camera and flash.

Just like the iPad, iPad mini is also getting a lot of attention towards keyboard cases to make it more comparable to a laptop. In addition to usual fabric and leather cases, there are a lot of bluetooth keyboard cases which confirm the 7.85 inches screen size of the iPad mini.

Although HDBlog thinks these cases are manufactured on the basis of rumored designs of the devices, I can’t agree with them over this. Manufacturing cases for any kind of devices is not a cheap business to mess up with. You can’t manufacture them relying on rumors and speculation or you’d seriously mess up your factory/company. Apple is known for handing out device designs to case manufacturers so that they can make their cases available in time after the launch of the products and that’s the only case these cases could be manufactured.

I have a firm belief that what I’m looking at is real and the final proof of iPhone 5 and iPad mini’s sizes and form factors. What do you think?
