Apple hints at 4-inch iPhone 5 display with Yerba Buena decor

Apple is finalizing preparations at Yerba Buena Center of Arts where iPhone 5 announcement would be made. Although nobody is allowed to go inside, by-passers can see the preparations from distance. The iconic Apple logo covers the whole front of the building which will be the first welcome for the attendees of the event.

At first glance, the above decor may look like a mere combination of colors but some eagle eyed Apple fans over at MacRumors took a closer look and found that these colors are actually the stretched iPhone app icons. I’ve verified the claim myself by playing around with the picture.

By cutting out the horizontal strips and skewing the image, I got this:

The picture above looked strangely familiar and when I contracted it vertically and applied blur effect, this was the result:

YBCA decor = iPhone 5 app icons

While it is a very clever design approach and a beautiful decor idea, it raises a question that why would Apple stretch the icons and display them as the first thing for attendees? It can’t be anything else but a hint that iPhone 5 will have a 4-inch screen and contents would automatically stretch to fit the taller display. This almost confirms that iPhone 5 will have a taller 4-inch display, what do you think?
