Apple’s largest event of the year, World Wide Developers Conference 2012 kicked off today with a keynote where Apple made several announcements including iOS 6, Safari 6, new retina display Macbook Pro and a new Macbook Air. There were a lot things Apple had to announce like availability of Siri on the iPad, iCloud syncing, a demo of OS X Mountain Lion, its pricing and availability and the list goes on and on and on. iOS 6 brings along a whole slew of new features – which total to 200 as Scott Forstall told on stage – the most lovely of them is Siri’s availability on third generation iPad. Also, Siri now covers sports and restaurant ratings too. In addition to that, the new maps app in iOS 6 is developed ground up by Apple and provides turn by turn navigation, 3D maps and flyover. Like twitter in iOS 5, Facebook is now integrated system-wide in iOS 6. Not only that you can post and share to Facebook, you’d also notice Facebook like buttons in places like app store. Shared PhotoStream allows you to share your photos with your friends, these photos then appear on their photo galleries and they can comment on them – it is like Apple’s own photo-social-network. Fortunately the video recording of the keynote is now available for streaming from Apple’s site so that you can watch it for yourself.
