Apple announced iOS 6 with a whole stack of new features at their WWDC keynote yesterday, iOS beta was made available to the developers right after the event wrapped up. It has hardly been 24 hours since then and father hacker @musclenerd has managed to achieve a tethered jailbreak on iOS 6 beta on his fourth generation iPod Touch. He disclosed this news on his twitter account a while ago:
This confirms that the final iOS 6 release is not going to be a big challenge as far as a thethered jailbreak is concerned, we can’t say anything about an untethered jailbreak though. As @musclenerd warns, the jailbreak can’t be released immediately because there are a whole slew of iOS devices which are yet to be tested, even after that iPhone Dev Team would need some time to incorporate the jailbreak in Redsn0w. Cydia is currently broken on iOS 6 but Saurik – developer of Cydia – is usually quick at updating it, we hope he does that before iPhone Dev Team finishes their work.
