Apple just wrapped up their WWDC keynote with a lot of announcements including iOS 6, new Macbook Air, Macbook Pro with retina display and others but the iOS 6 feature that rocks them all is the availability of Siri on the iPad.
There have been a lot of hacking efforts at making Siri available on the devices other than iPhone 4S but none of them brought fruit. Apple has taken note and made Siri available on the iPad themselves. Unfortunately, the bond-lifting is only for the new iPad a.k.a iPad 3, older iPads won’t be able to take advantage of the feature.
Siri in iOS 6 is more advanced than iOS 5, it now understands more languages than ever and covers sports too. You can get scores and updates on the latest matches either it be baseball or a sport of your choice. Player information appears in the form of cards with complete score, performance and some history.
In addition to sports, Siri would now display restaurant information based on user rating, so now you’d have a better choice of choosing a table for dinner instead of getting those “233 restaurants fairly close to you” responses.
Those of you who have the new iPad, would be able to enjoy Siri’s assistance once iOS 6 is released to the masses, Apple did not announce a release date though. We’d update you guys as more details appear. My personal guess is that iOS 6 would be released some time in September or October with the debut of the iPhone 5. Until then, you should sit back and relax.
